The Belmont, the atypical planting (cabernet franc/syrah). The terroir : 15 acres of Jurassic clay and line stone chalk facing south 10 to 25% of slope and 800 feet of altitude give a fresh and mineral taste . Planting : 1.20 by 1.00 which means 8333 vines to the hectare.

We were the first to underline the originality and the value of the wines made by Christian Belmon, based on the intuitions of Claude and Lydia Bourguignon. On limestone similar to that of Chablis, Chardonnay works miracles and the combination of Cabernet Franc and Syrah produces reds as racy as one would expect from a terroir of this quality. Françoise Belmon, supported by Stéphane Derenoncourt and the entire team at the estate, continues her work with great courage, her first decision being to elegantly modernise the style of the labels. The 2016s are, unsurprisingly, once again very successful. A prized address, to know absolutely.
