Bernard Magrez’s life-story has been one of passion, constant search for perfection, savoir-faire and outstanding success. It began in Bordeaux, then continued at Grand Cru Classé wine estates and later in other prestigious terroirs in France and around the world. He is the only person to own four prestigious wine estates at the same time. Apart from that, the Group owns 42 wineries in 11 different countries.

Pape-Clément has been at its best since 1985, when Bernard Magrez took over. With steadfastness and iron will, he has refined the winemaking process, paying attention to detail at every stage, without losing sight of the goal of every grand cru classé owner: the summit. The truffled and precise character of the grain, the texture and silkiness of the flesh, this is the very essence of a great Pessac. The whites share the same finesse and sophistication as the reds. The reds, incredibly complex, favour aromatic expression, precision of grain and freshness. The whites, with their unrivalled smokiness and minerality, often reach new heights.
