As Chile’s first icon wines, Seña is a unique Bordeaux blend made from biodynamically grown grapes in the region of Aconcagua Valley. The winery was originally founded in 1995 by Eduardo Chadwick in cooperation with the leader of the Napa Valley wine industry Robert Mondavi. Eduardo Chadwick, embarked upon the Chilean wine industry’s first international joint-venture to create a unique wine. They named it Seña, as a sign to the world that Chile was able to produce a truly great, world-class wine. This Chilean Bordeaux-style blend gets its structure from Cabernet Sauvignon, while the Carmenere gives it Chilean terroir-specific characteristics. Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot complete the composition- The 104-acre mountain vineyard is amazing to visit as it has vineyards planted mostly on steep slopes overlooking the Andes.
Viñedo Chadwick represents the Chadwick family’s long cherished desire to honor the memory of the late Don Alfondo Chadwick Errazuriz with an Ultra Premium red wine showcasing the ancestry, tradition and expertise of the Chadwick-Errazuriz family for producing fine wine reflecting the family’s passion for excellence. Viñedo Chadwick is located 650m above sea level at Puente Alto, in the Maipo Valley in the southeastern sector of Santiago at the foot of the Andes Mountains along the northern bank of the Maipo River. The 15-hectare vineyard is considered one of Chile´s best terroirs for producing Cabernet Sauvignon of exceptional quality.
