Château de la Gardine シャトー・ドゥ・ラ・ガルディーヌ

Born out of the meeting of a man, Gaston Brunel, and a « terroir », Châteauneuf du Pape, the Brunel family perpetuates the traditions through generations.

The family favours ancestral methods to preserve the balance of nature, using human skills and hands. The grape varieties, carefully chosen depending on the soil (“galets roulés”, Urgonian Limestone and Miocene era soil), provide a lot of complexity to the wines. Carefully sorting the grapes and blending them at vinification stage give a very homogeneous blend and the cohesion of all the aromas.

The viticultural tradition of the Brunel family dates back to the 17th Century. Gaston Brunel, wine merchant at that time, purchased Château de la Gardine in 1947. The estate is now run by hos two sons, Patrick and Maxime, together with their wines Eve and Maryse and their children and grandchildren: Marie-Odile, Philippe and Guillaume. The estate spreads over 128 acres (118 acres of red and 10 acres of white) and 50 acres of forest, all gathered around the property. Château de la Gardine is well known for the quality of its wine but also for its unique shaped bottle.
